FORMATION FOR MISSION
TEAM

Join the diocesan Formation for Mission Team and the Dominican Sisters of St Joseph for a day of thanksgiving, prayer, fellowship and formation for Catechists and Children Liturgy's Leaders,
on the 8th of October, in Winchester.
The day will be led by Fr Mark Hogan, Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation, who will unveil the plans for the future of Formation for Mission in the diocese, in line with the diocesan strategy.
The day is free. Please bring a packed lunch.

Tuesdays 26th April - 31st May
7.00 - 8.30 pm
Baptism - Anchoring you in New Life
6 sessions to discover the meaning and rite of our baptism, which is our entry into God's own life and family.
This is a course for everyone who wishes to understand the meaning of Christianity and their own baptism.

Thursdays 28th April - 2nd June
7.00 - 8.30 pm
Confirmation - Anchoring you in the Holy Spirit
6 sessions to discover the sacrament of confirmation and to reflect on our life in the Spirit. This course is open to all adults who wish to understand more deeply the meaning of confirmation, especially confirmation catechists.
Saturdays 18th and 25th June
10 am to 1 pm
Readers Workshops
Workshop 1 offers a general and brief introduction to the Liturgy of the Word at Mass, as well as an overview of the practical skills required for reading in church.
Workshop 2 offers a general introduction to the Bible and a group study of a specific reading, using the 4 senses of Scripture, to equip parish readers to prepare and understand the texts they read.

A Team of volunteers
Our Formation for Mission Team is composed of 12 sisters and 14 lay persons who are dedicating some of their time to be at the service of the diocese.
They have families, jobs, and parish commitments as catechists and helpers, yet they have generously signed up to a diocesan commitment to be at the service of fellow catechists, parents, grandparents and parishioners.

Sr Hyacinthe
Sr Hyacinthe is originally from France. She joined the Dominican Sisters in 2000. She is passionate about catechesis and the transmission of the faith, and has an MA in religious education and catechesis, an ecclesiastical Licence in catechetics, and is currently working on a doctoral research on the transmission of hope from a Thomistic perspective.
Our team's mission is to provide formation for parish catechists and parish readers, and more generally to offer faith formation for all adult Catholics in the Diocese of Portsmouth so that they may engage more knowingly and passionately in the mission of
