Resources for Readers
Our Team is currently offering a couple of online workshops for parish readers.
Workshop 1 offers a general and brief introduction to the Liturgy of the Church and a more specific overview of the Liturgy of the Word at Mass, as well as an overview of the practical skills required for reading in church.
Workshop 2 offers a general introduction to the Bible and a group study of a specific reading, using the 4 senses of Scripture, to equip parish readers so as to prepare and understand the depth of the texts they read.

Practise your reading with a Diocesan Listener
We are blessed to be helped by a group of 25 diocesan listeners, who are all experienced church readers and are volunteering their time to help others proclaim the word of God with clarity and conviction at Mass.
After attending the readers workshops, you will be invited to sign up for a 15 minutes online practice with one of our diocesan listener. This practice is not an assessment, but an opportunity to receive help to proclaim the word of God to the best of your ability, as an act of faith and worship of God and love for your fellow parishioners.
Proclaiming the word is a wonderful gift, and none of us can claim to do it perfectly. Our listeners are here to help you read the word of God well, with faith and understanding.
